Homo-Genius Proposition

"Historically, domestic partners of Foreign Service members have not been provided the same training, benefits, allowances and protections that other family members receive," the notice says. "These inequities are unfair and must end."

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is preparing a notice to all diplomatic personnel about the inequalities affecting U.S. diplomats and their partners. This notice is to alleviate the discrimination of same-sex relationships within the U.S. State Department, allowing for same-sex partners the eligibility of participating in special early-round applications for jobs at embassies, health-care and other benefits. The State Department withheld these benefits, citing the Defense of Marriage Law that protects federal law from allowing same-sex marriage (and the goods/bads that come along).

There is no definite time as to when this notice will be officially released, as the correspondent responsible for releasing this information to CNN is to remain nameless and is not available for comment; but the movement towards gay/lesbian rights is slowing growing.

This is the right thing to do.
